Winter is on its Way?

 

Umm... well as best that Winter can be on the way here in sunny CA..
I don't think that I have even put on anthing that has sleeves yet!..
I am still having fun creating.. thinking of the winters I used to have as a little girl!
Enjoy the layouts (the winter one has some fun snow on the flakes but it just will not show up for me.. ughh!) and the fun Christmas tags!

Another One and a Layout...

I have been busy in my "Studio" and whipped up a quick layout and another gift card holder.
It is so much fun having a quiet house for a change. 

Quick Holiday Fun!

Gift Card Holders! Yep! It is getting to be that time of year for us. Christmas is just around the corner. Gift Cards are a staple around our area. I am always looking for a new way to present them.

One of my friends the super crafty Miss Jill was making these for a holiday boutique this weekend. I thought "Why not try a few?". If nothing else I can always use a few for the holidays. They really came out cute.. in fact much better than these pictures. Oh.. the Michael's card..... is just for an example.. sorry guys.. it has been setting on $0 for a while now..

Happy Halloween Fun!

I have had so much fun playing with Scrapbook Doodle's Happy Halloween Kit the past few days.
It is loaded with goodies and you must check them out!  I just love the whimsical tone in this kit.  Are the cats not the cutest thing?
There are tons of possibilities here as the kit is PACKED with goodies!
In the home front we are hanging in there.  Andrew has started school and is now in 4th grade!
He is still growing taller but not growing out.  Finding pants long enough has been a chore!
Hubby is still working and we are looking forward to it finally cooling down... when?? I don't know.. they are saying it is suposed to be in the mid 90's in a few days!

Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

Andrew reminded me last night that Valentine's day is almost here.  Hint, Hint mom....
So we both went in and chose a photo and I went to work.
This card is made with heavy chipboard and is about 6 inches high.  I really love Crate Paper's new "Paper Hearts" line.  It is so stinking cute with loads of possibilities! Everyone knows I am still creating for Scrapbook Doodle online... Please feel free to check out that store if you need supplies! Yvonne is the best!
Well my card is done for my hubby.. I have a few other things left to do.
Remember..it is all about Love!  Give that special someone, something from your heart!  They will remember it always!

Unexpected Fun... Snow?!!

After the bustle of the past few days around here we decided to take my mom for a drive into the mountains.  We had heard that they had drained a lake up in the mountains above us to improve the existing dam and they had uncovered loads of fun things.  Sound like a fun time?.  Well we piled in the car, (I decided that I would wear sneakers instead of the uggs I had been wearing.. they have started to get hot)... no jackets (lucky I found one in the car).. it has been beautiful the past few days.  Well needless to say... we found SNOW!  lol..

After our drive, Mom decided to treat us to the spaghetti factory.  As you can tell Andrew LOVED it!

Mom is leaving in a few days so things should get back to the "normal" around here.  But then.. is there really a normal?

On the RUN!!!!

My mom is here from out of state.  I am on the go this week.  I just wanted to pop in and share with you one of my Favorite albums I have created.  I took a dive into working with metal and embossed the front and back covers in metal and adhered it to an accordian album that I created. Just the perfect colors for valentine's day.  Let me know what you think!

Sweet, Sweet, Rain!

Yes! Finally we have rain!  We have been so dry this winter.  Rain is a beautiful thing for us right now in our small area of the world.  I know when you get too much it is a bad thing but right now I am really enjoying it.  I just want to snuggle up in bed and be cozy.

I think I must have always loved the rain.  The sound of it falling softly on the roof. The clasp of thunder in a lightning storm.  It brings back so many memories.

Memories are special.  They can't take them away from you.  Maybe that is why I enjoy scrapbooking so  much.  I get to filter through all of the photos that have memories attached and create with my most favorite medium, paper.

Above are a couple of Valentine's cards that I have created.  I just love the flying heart one.  The "Be Mine" label is actually a fabric label.

The one below is so much fun.  It is just hearts and flowers focusing on special words on the paper.

Working on My New Online Store

Hi Guys!  I bet you have been wondering how and where I have been.  I have been slowly working on my new online "Studio of Design".  It has been a true learning experience.  I have been bothering my kids with learning linking and how to make banners.  I really think that they are hiding from me now!

Now I am in the photographing stage ( I truly need practice) and.... what do you expect in an area that has not seen rain
in forever?...RAIN!  It is truly an adventure!

I am yearning for a little more  creative time in my  scrap room right now,  but here I sit working on the computer.

I am so excited about this venture as I miss traveling around the U.S. like I used to working the scrapbook shows.  I really miss all the friends I made and some of the faithful people that were in the  classes I taught.  Now I will be home based and can design to my hearts content, still feel the paper between my fingers, and enjoy the process. 

I will be keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and God will bless this venture.
